Piper rested her head on Nate’s chest while the two of them lay, cocooned under a blanket, on the couch, enjoying their post-coital bliss.

Nate was trailing his fingers up and down her arm, and his touch was making it hard for her to stay awake.

“Hey,” Nate said, turning his head toward her. His chin rubbed the top of her head. “Can I ask you a question?”

She yawned. “You just did.”

“Smart-ass. No, it’s something you texted me the other day.”

They messaged each other every day, so he could be talking about anything.

“What did I say?”

“It was when you said your friends asked how I was in bed.”

She tilted her head back onto his shoulder to look into his eyes. “Really? You don’t strike me as the insecure type.”

He frowned. “I’m not, thank you very much. No, I was wondering if women really talked about that stuff.”

Piper laughed. “You really don’t have any friends who are female, do you?”

His frown deepened.

“Sorry, I meant no offense. You just surprise me sometimes. You have a sister, for heaven’s sake.”

He nodded. “I do. A much younger sister. Who will remain a virgin until her wedding day.”

Piper raised her brow.

“It’s true. At least in my mind. What I don’t know can’t hurt me in this situation.”

She supposed he had a point. “Okay, I’ll give you that one. We can’t have you going around, intimidating all of Tiana’s boyfriends.”

“Exactly.”

“So, to answer your question, yes, women really talk like that. I don’t think men know that women can be just as nasty as guys. And just as sexual.”

Nate shrugged. “Well, I knew that part.”

She wrinkled up her nose. “But do you? I mean, I know you have women that you”—she didn’t know if she should say have sex with or had sex with; she didn’t want to insinuate anything, like she thought he was only sleeping with her now—“have sex with, and that’s all you do, but do you realize that they are more than sexual beings?”

Nate didn’t reply right away, and she had to give him points for honestly thinking about the question.

“Yes, but I didn’t really think about it until you said something. I see what you’re saying.”

She smiled. “That’s good. Because, sometimes, the sweetest girls can be the naughtiest.”

“Like you?”

She mock gasped, putting a hand on her chest. “Moi? I do not think so.”

Nate laughed. “So, you’re telling me that your friends didn’t ask any details about the two of us having sex?”

Piper moved her head back to his chest. “I plead the fifth.”

Simone, Lainey, and Kayla had asked her every possible question about her Friday night with Nate.

“Does he look as good with clothes off as he does on?”

“Yes.”

“Is he hung like a horse?”

“Yes.”

“Is he amazing in bed?”

“Yes.”

“Did he make you come?”

“Yes, yes, and yes.”

She wasn’t about to tell him all that though. It would go straight to his head, and Nate didn’t need any help with his ego.

Thankfully, Nate laughed and didn’t interrogate her on what had been said about him.

She moved her head to his shoulder again.
